My lady bought me Peonies- definitely one of my favorites:
They change so much as they open, it’s exciting to see what they’ll look like next.
my lady and i are moving into our very own apartment on August first (we’re currently living with roommates). All i can think about is decorating our soon to be home. One idea that i’ve been obsessing over is using a wall decal in our bedroom. While i love the idea of painting, i’m actually a little afraid of how much work it actually entails. So my solution is only painting our closet door (double sliding doors!!!) and adding a simple, botanical wall decal. These things are also called vinyl stickers, but basically it’s like a big sticker that is removable. Here a few of my favorite contenders for the moment:

and “Extra large Sophia birds on branch decal” from etsy seller Elephannie.
All the decals come in a variety of colors, so they’ll go with any color scheme I choose…… i can’t wait!
On my day off this week my lady and I went to Urban Ore in Berkeley. It’s kind of like a thrift store on a larger scale… mostly building materials and furniture and fixtures. they have aisles and aisles of:
doors,
door knobs,
various styles of drawers and shelves,
tons of cool old (and not really that old) vases and jars,
and these (the base plate?) for door knobs.
On top of seeing this really inspiring collection of materials (I’m going to be moving to a new apartment in just over a month), I also found this crazy thing:
yes. it’s a crazy cat lamp. maybe the craziest I’ve ever encountered….
