I’ve such a wonderful weekend
Lots of sun in the bay area, and I’m feeling really good about the amount jewelry I’ve been making. Here’s a peek of some new organic hoops I’m working on (they’re not finished yet):
I really enjoy how none of them are exact matches to each other. What do you think?
Also, my bestie just got a new baby kitten:

This is Bruce. He’s the craziest, spastic little guy I’ve even met. Isn’t just adorable?! I love my little nephew!
Yay! I’m drinking lots of coffee and getting lots of new pieces made!

I’m also doing some experimenting with 14 karat gold-filled wire… It’s challenging and I’m not sure I like or will get very far with it, but I wanted to give it a shot.

Here’s one of my new “organic hoops” in the 14 karat gold-filled with little silver “spores”. I think I like it.
I have been struggling so much to stay motivated lately. The last three weekends in a row were devoured by events that kept me from working on my jewelry (tradeshow for my day job, migraine, oral surgery!). I feel as if I’m being tested. I can’t stand the idea of procrastinating until the week before Renegade, and then working into the night and burning myself out. Yeesh.
So for now, I’m just trying to stay motivated by making little goals for every day. Today I focused on simply making a few duplicates of pieces I’ve gotten good feedback on…

Well, part of tonight’s goal was working until a certain hour, which is rapidly approaching. Time to get back to it!
I found etsy seller BeHappyNow, and I’m totally in love with these pieces:

This is called My Lovely Plume and I think it’s just exquisite. I love the fine details and all the textures and patterns.
This is also called My Lovely Plume:

These would be so lovely framed side by side.
I also really love this photo of a hand crafted scene:
So colorful and full of humor, light-hearted and joyful. I love this little world!
I’ve been pretty out of it for a few days now…
I had one of my wisdom teeth extracted (unexpectedly) on Friday. Take a look at my treasure though:

It’s so crazy to think about something that big just sitting in your face. Ouch. I can tell I’m starting to feel better though, because all I can think about is how hungry I am! Before, my mouth hurt so much I couldn’t even think about eatting, but now, food is the most amazing thing I can think about! I’m already planning my first feast once my mouth is back to normal.
I’ve been drawing out this idea for weeks now, and I finally made a pair of cell formation hoops:

This is actually a pretty small pair, but I can totally see them getting really big and fabulous…

I’ve got a few more new pieces to share!

New leaf frame pendants and a little leaf studs. I’m so excited about making these little post earrings!
It’s Monday again, and I’ve decided I’m going to try to change my attitude about this day of the week. Mondays are just the gate way into the week, and my many goals are soon to be crossed off the list now that Monday has begun.
Whatever. I’m still bummed the weekend is over.
But I did get some new ides going this weekend. I bought some gold vermeil beads with sort-of-large holes that I want to try to incorporate into a design

Aren’t they pretty! Satin finish gold is so yummy. I think they could be little protons or neutrons or something….

Lately I’ve begun making more post earrings, which I thought was a strange impulse, since I personally don’t really wear post earrings often. But I guess it’s just because I don’t have many post earrings that I like. I’ll soon be fixing that though! Here’s a little peek at some amoeba studs I’ve started with:

They haven’t been polished in the picture, so please, pardon. I’ll share more in-progress pieces as the week goes on.
This evening I stumbled upon a miracle! Tiny leaves had begun to sprout in my hanging fruit/veggie basket. A lonely little potato has been waiting so long to be transformed into dinner, that it began to imagine its own new beginning:

How spectacular! I’ve never seen such a glorious potato in my own kitchen. It’s bright purple stalks and veiny leaves are such a sight to behold.

Look how brightly the purple veins contrast against the green leaf. I just love it. How incredible that this little fellow, impatiently sitting in my kitchen, was so sick of sitting still, he decided to sprout a forest of purple and green.
The flowers I bought at the farmer’s market last weekend might be dead, but who needs them when I have this little guy?
I’m super excited to announce that I’ll be selling at the 2nd annual San Francisco Renegade Craft Fair!

It’s July 18th and 19th, and I’m working on a schedule for myself so that I have plenty of jewels for everyone
I’ll keep you posted on the details and all the new designs I’m brainstorming.
